Do you dream about working with young people? Childcare practitioner Kaleb Mbise launched his career with a Foundation Apprenticeship – here are three things he thinks you should know.
Kaleb grew up with parents who both spoke passionately about their social care careers. And as a teenager, Kaleb volunteered at a local youth café. So, when he got the chance to do a Foundation Apprenticeship in a caring role, he jumped straight in!
Dumbarton-based Kaleb loved working with the team at Bellsmyre Education Centre. In fact, he even took on extra hours at the nursery. Kaleb impressed his colleagues as he planned a range of activities for the children and handled everything with ease.
Kaleb’s talent and dedication was recognised when he was crowned Scotland’s Foundation Apprentice of the Year. Now, Kaleb works in his dream role as a childcare practitioner.
