In 2022, Rae graduated from Abertay University. She put her Applied Biomedical Science Degree to immediate use – securing a job at Ninewells Hospital. Rae spends most of her time analysing blood, focusing on things like glucose levels or tumour markers.
Rae may have graduated just three years ago, but her career is already in full flow! The former Arbroath Academy pupil dreams of going a step further and becoming a clinical scientist. She’d then specialise in cardiac or diabetic studies.
At Ninewells, Rae works alongside some of her former lecturers. She’s passionate about education herself and aspires to achieve a master's degree or PhD.
Outside of work, Rae volunteers with Lift Off – an initiative that inspires young people to get into higher education or employment.
