Want to take your electrical engineering career to the next level? This thorough two-year course will give you the skills to help you progress to electrical engineering in a future managerial role. You’ll learn about inspection, testing, safety and electricity power systems, as well as Engineering maths units 1-4, giving you a good grounding as an innovative, future-ready engineering professional.

Course description

In this HND Electrical Engineering course, you'll complete a range of units such as:

DC and AC principles
Electrical machine principles
Application of electrical and electronic instruments
Three phase systems
Electricity power systems
Communication
Engineering mathematics 1
Electrical engineering graded unit 1
Electrical safety
Inspection and testing of low-voltage installations
Engineering Maths 1 – 4 will be delivered during the two years of the course.

Entry requirements

Minimum of one Higher, or equivalent, from Mathematics or Physics. Please note that Applications of Maths is not accepted; OR
NC in Electrical Engineering Level 6, or equivalent; OR
We'll consider your application if you have relevant experience but no formal qualifications.
