Course overview
The BPEC electrical safe isolation installer course is a one-day commercial training course aimed at operatives who need (in the course of their normal work) to safely isolate single-phase and three-phase electrical supplies and equipment. The one day course is for qualified electricians only. Those from other trades and other levels within the electrical industry require a 2 day course.COURSES RUN TO DEMAND 'ENQUIRE NOW'.
Course description
The BPEC Safe Isolation of Low Voltage Electrical Installations training course covers:
- Introduction to safe isolation
- Why is electricity so dangerous
- Legislation, Regulations and Standards
- Safe Isolation procedures
- Devices suitable for the purpose of isolation
- Consequences of not using safe isolation techniques
This course is delivered in accordance with the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989. There are both theoretical and practical assessments.
The one day course is for qualified electricians only. Those from other trades require a 2 day course.
Entry requirements
Electricians one day course
- A formal qualification, such as SVQ Level 2 or 3 in electrical installation
Non Electricians 2 day course
- A formal qualification, such as SVQ Level 2 or 3 heating engineering / plumbing
- Working towards a formal qualification, such as SVQ Level 2 or 3 electrical installation / heating and ventilation / plumbing or
- A number of years’ experience in conventional heating engineering / plumbing / electrical installations.
