Data visualisation specialist

About the job

What it's like

As a data visualisation specialist, it’s your job to take raw data and transform it into a visual format. You will work with data sets or qualitative and quantitative data.

You’ll work in lots of business sectors. You’d make memorable presentations that educate and inform business leaders, colleagues and customers.

For example, in the energy industry, areas where energy is being wasted can be identified, such as high energy consumption in certain areas. By addressing these issues, energy providers can reduce waste and increase efficiency.

Your tasks might include:

  • analysing data sets to find useful and practical information that benefits businesses

  • creating eye-catching infographics, charts and diagrams that clearly convey important information

  • reporting on data trends and presenting these findings to business audiences

Hours

Working hours can vary, but usually full-time hours will be 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Some jobs or projects might require you to work longer hours or weekends.

Environment

You’ll usually be office-based and work at a computer most of the time.
