About Drones in Construction

Think the construction industry is all about building sites and power tools? Think again! As the sector evolves, it’s tapping into a whole range of fresh technology. And it needs talented young people to fill the new, exciting roles this creates.

That’s where Drones in Construction comes in. We’ll come to your school and educate pupils on how drones are used across the sector. And yes – everyone will get a chance to fly a drone!

Our pupils found the Drones in Construction activity very exciting. Along with their fantastic new flying skills, they have an understanding of the wide variety of construction careers across Scotland. So what's involved?

Designed in partnership with Balfour Beatty. This activity is inspired by industry and uses real examples to show how technology is changing the world of work.

Your pupils will learn how to control and safely fly a drone. Working in small groups, every young person will get a shot of our drones. We’ll also set them fun challenges to test their new skills.

We’ll show young people how drones are used across various industries. It’s not just construction – there are cool careers in healthcare, logistics, agriculture and the creative industries. This session will help your pupils explore careers they could do in the future.
