Game Design Series

Know any computer game enthusiasts from P5 to S4? Let’s work together and help them create their very own game!

About Game Design Series

In the UK, 88% of young adults play video games according to an Ofcom report. And you’ll undoubtedly have heard your pupils boasting about their latest missions, creations or online duels.

Wouldn’t it be great if they could star as the main character in their very own video game? With our Game Design Series, they can!

The session will take your pupils' passion for gaming and turn it into a useful exercise. Young people will learn about skills identification and development while finding out about possible future careers.

So, what's involved?

Bring video games to life. We’ll work with your class over Microsoft Teams to show them how to use software to design and create their own games.

The proof is in the playing – see if others like it! Once your pupils have made their game, they'll be encouraged to share it with their classmates. Who knows, someone in your class may create a game that pushes Call of Duty and Minecraft out of the gaming charts.

Progress through the levels. There are three Game Design sessions available for your class to work through. Each one builds on the skills learnt in the previous session. By the ‘Final Frontier’ session, your pupils will be confident in continuing their learning independently.

Explore the world of work. There are hundreds of careers across web development and the creative industries. We can help your pupils explore different industries and show them ways in, like apprenticeships.
